Russert Vigil Tonight

The western New York community continues to remember a man who asked the tough questions and made politics more accessible.

The memory of Tim Russert will be honored at a candle-light vigil Monday night. It takes place at 8:00 o'clock at Tim Russert Park in West Seneca.

On Sunday, Vice President Joe Biden was a guest on NBC's "Meet the Press," which Russert hosted for 16 years. "It was a year ago almost to the day that I was supposed to be on the program with him," said Biden. "I was supposed to be on that Sunday and Friday we got the call. It's just still almost surreal. I mean this guy; this guy was bigger than life. This guy extended beyond what he did on this show."

Also reflecting Sunday on Tim's passing was Bob Schiefer, host of CBS' "Face the Nation". Schiefer paid a tribute to Tim's memory during his Sunday-morning show, which airs the same time as "Meet the Press".
